How to: How to: Find video driver conflicts
Solution:
Check the 'Conflicting device list' in 'Device Manager' for interrupt and I/O conflicts.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' Menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
3) Double-click the 'System' icon. (The 'System Properties' dialog box appears.)
4) Click the 'Device Manager' tab.
5) Double-click the 'Display adapters' icon. (The current display driver appears.)
6) Click on the display driver name and click 'Properties'. (The display 'Properties' dialog box appears.)
7) Click the 'Resources' tab. (The display driver 'Resources' dialog box displays.)
8) Check the 'Conflicting device list' list box in the 'Resources' dialog box for conflicting devices.
9) (Optional) Compare the interrupt and I/O address of each adapter card with the others by recording the information in the 'Resource settings' list box for each device.
a) Click the 'Resource settings' DOWN ARROW or UP ARROW key to scroll the contents.
b) Record the 'Interrupt request' and Input/output range' for the device.
NOTE: If the device is a legacy device (jumpered interrupt and Input/output), verify that the actual jumpered pins correspond to what is reported in the 'resource settings' list box.
c) Click 'Cancel' to close the display 'Properties' dialog box.
d) Repeat steps 5) through 9c) for each device in the system.
10) Click 'Cancel' to close the 'System Properties' dialog box.
1l) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close' to close the 'Control Panel' window.
